Manitoba Educators for Inclusion's mission is to promote educational practices which embrace and celebrate every child's unique experience, abilities and potential. We will accomplish this through providing educators with tools, resources, and educational strategies. Our ambition is to further enhance and create spaces where every child feels they belong.
Did this year’s title catch your attention? Each year we do a deep dive into a specific inclusion topic, and this year is disabilities. We encourage you join us to hear more with our guest speakers Dr. Nancy Hansen and the Momenta team.
We also understand the importance of collaboration, so do know you will have opportunities to collaborate with other professionals and get the chance to connect with some specialists/leaders in the education field directly during our “Cafe Chats”.
We look forward to connecting and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions.

FULL - In-Person Sessions
Session A: Guest Speaker - Nancy Hansen
Words matter. If you say I have special needs...then just say the word disabled. Euphemisms only fuel ableism.

Session B: Keynote: Building Relationships and Setting Expectations: A Strengths-Based Perspective - Sara Harrison, Momenta
This two-part presentation will provide current research on strengths-based practices to build strong relationships with students and create meaningful expectations to support behaviour. The presentation will include activity, small group work, and time for reflection.
_
Session C: Collab Time - Colleague Conversation Guide
This collaboration time will allow folks to meet with others attending the conference. Participants will meet in early, middle, and senior years focus groups to discuss inclusion success strategies and resources they have 1-1, within classrooms, schools, and the community. Responses will be placed on a one-page document and shared with all participants at a later date through MEI's website.

LUNCH: Nelson Mac's School team has generously offered to make meals for those attending in person who register prior to October 21 so that their team can prepare food accordingly. Booths will be on-site to visit during the lunch break. Ranging from a resource library, authors, and local organizations.
